Purpose of the Role

This role involves conducting market research, assisting in the analysis of prospective investments, and supporting the monitoring and daily management of existing investments.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analyzing research materials related to companies, industry sectors, and economic trends.
• Gathering market insights through discussions and meetings with brokers and company representatives, collaborating with fellow analysts, and reviewing research to generate trading ideas for asset managers.
• Running financial models and providing investment recommendations to asset managers for both short and long-term securities.
• Back-testing trading strategies and preparing valuation models as needed.
• Regularly sending research updates to asset managers.
• Reviewing and cross-checking information from financial models and brokers’ data.
• Printing and preparing research for analysts, along with managing ad hoc requests related to meeting notes, models, news reports, and research documentation.
• Promoting and monitoring contributions via team meeting chat systems.
• Supervising hard copy research subscriptions and news channels, including the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal, while downloading and sharing data as requested.
• Compiling current survey results and peer group reports for team distribution.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in strategies such as Relative Value trades and SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies).
• Expertise in Merger Arbitrage using options.
• Over 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Prime Broker platforms and financing optimization.
• Experience managing funds in UCITS and offshore formats.
• A history of industry recognition with multiple awards received.
