This position offers a hands-on opportunity for individuals with a passion for animal welfare who thrive in fast-paced environments. The role involves supporting vivarium operations and assisting with non-clinical study data collection.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily husbandry tasks for study animals, including cage changes and welfare checks.
• Conduct colony management tasks and oversee routine maintenance.
• Receive rodents and assist with pest control checks.
• Operate and maintain cage wash, autoclave, and laundry equipment.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards and implement strategies for improvement.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Study Protocols, Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Document activities with precision and attention to detail.
• Handle rodents humanely and confidently.
• Perform additional related duties as required.

Skills and Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred.
• Willingness to work holidays and weekends as needed.
• Passion for animal welfare and care.
• Experience in laboratory animal handling and restraint techniques.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with laboratory methods, SOPs, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Schedule Details

The schedule will transition to Sunday through Thursday after training, with initial training occurring Monday through Friday.
