Professional Profile

Candidates should hold a degree in Engineering, Finance, or an equivalent field that facilitates working with large data sets. A minimum of seven years of experience in European power trading is required, along with strong knowledge and practical experience in asset-backed trading and optimisation. Deep experience in power market organisation across European countries is essential, with specific expertise in one or two countries being a significant advantage.

Success in this role requires a fascination with power market fundamentals, including changing generation stack dynamics. You should be passionate about following market developments and possess original ideas on how industry trends might affect markets. The ideal candidate is happy to take the lead in taking positions and is comfortable explaining their thinking to all levels within the organisation.

Good experience with physical and financial trading instruments is necessary to capture both the intrinsic and extrinsic value of managed positions. You must be well-versed in risk management and trading regulations, setting an example and protecting the integrity of a well-functioning market. A demonstrated ability to develop trading views and translate them into measurable performance is key, as is a strong affinity with quantitative tools and modelling approaches, such as dispatch models and optionality.

Other essential qualities include a passion for analytics, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with fluency in English. Additional European languages, such as Italian and/or Dutch, are considered a plus.
