Position Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to take on a senior leadership role within an established international organization. The focus of this role is on managing and developing the European Credit function, ensuring effective cash collection and credit risk management across multiple European markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a diverse European Credit Control team.
  • Drive regional cash collection targets while improving working capital.
  • Monitor and enhance Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) performance across Europe.
  • Oversee customer accounts, ensuring adherence to agreed payment terms.
  • Make informed commercial credit decisions for both new and existing customers.
  • Reduce bad debt exposure while supporting overall commercial objectives.
  • Manage orders placed on credit hold, ensuring proper release processes are followed.
  • Maintain and enforce credit policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams.
  • Ensure accurate invoicing and effective payment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements pertaining to credit processes.
  • Support the implementation of Oracle and other credit-related systems.
  • Represent the Credit function at internal meetings and customer visits as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Significant experience in Credit Control or Credit Management.
  • Proven track record in leading and developing a sizeable Credit Control team.
  • Experience in managing a credit function across multiple European markets.
  • Strong understanding of cash collection, DSO, working capital, and credit risk.
  • Commercially minded, able to balance risk management with business requirements.
  • Confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders in Finance, Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Proficient in Excel and other relevant systems; Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
  • Able to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced setting.
  • ICM qualification is advantageous but not required.
