Global Clinical Distribution Lead

Join a pioneering organization in Drug Discovery and Development and a frontrunner in Personalised Healthcare. As the world's largest R&D spender in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics domain, this client is highly recognized internationally for its work across a vast number of therapeutic areas. They are a leader in both in vitro diagnostics and the manufacturing and selling of several innovative drugs.

Based in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland, this position is offered as a one-year contract with a very high chance of extension. As a member of the Study Management Chapter, you will manage end-to-end distribution activities for a portfolio of clinical trials of varying complexity. Your role involves deploying clinical inventory throughout a global distribution network consisting of 24 depots worldwide, covering the process from technical release through importation and delivery of clinical drugs to depots and clinical sites.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage On-time Delivery Performance for network supply shipments to meet study requirements and patient demand.
  • Participate effectively in Protocol Execution Teams (PETs), Global Supply Execution Teams (gSETs), and ad-hoc distribution-related meetings.
  • Drive the resolution of operational and system matters impacting on-time delivery by collaborating with internal and external providers.
  • Execute and coordinate network depot supply in coordination with the Clinical Demand and Supply Leader and other partners.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional and internal distribution-related projects and process improvement initiatives supporting the global distribution strategy.
  • Execute with the highest level of accuracy in the CLARA system and perform 1st and 2nd-level diagnostics.
  • Operate within a GMP-compliant environment, ensuring adherence to quality procedures.
  • Process event records such as quality incidents, CAPAs, and Changes (Planned Events) where applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
  • Degree (BA, BS, MS, MBA) in Business (Operations Management or Supply Chain Management), Biotechnology, or a relevant field; APICS and/or SCOR certification is an advantage.
  • 3-4 years’ experience in Clinical Trial Management, logistics, warehouse management, or other Supply Chain disciplines, preferably in the Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with SAP / ERP systems.
  • Experience in cross-functional, cross-cultural, and agile organizational models.
  • Action-oriented approach with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas, focusing on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborative and agile mindset, actively contributing to cross-functional teams and developing a self-directed team organization.
  • Ability to solve problems, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and handle complex situations autonomously.
  • Operational Excellence, Six Sigma, or Lean training considered a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required.
