Junior HR Generalist

Join a dynamic and fast-growing international organization in Frankfurt to help shape the future of a rapidly expanding European entity. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company's European expansion by supporting HR operations, payroll coordination, employee engagement, onboarding, and strategic HR projects. You will work closely with the HR Manager and collaborate with teams across Europe and the global headquarters in the US.

This is an onsite role requiring presence in the Frankfurt office 4-5 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • HR Administration & Employee Lifecycle
    • Prepare, review and coordinate employment contracts, amendments, letters and other HR documentation.
    • Support the full employee lifecycle, including new hires, employee changes, leave, employee queries and offboarding.
    • Maintain accurate employee data and documentation.
    • Maintain and update Workday, ensuring employee information is complete and up to date.
  • Payroll Coordination
    • Prepare and coordinate monthly payroll inputs and changes with the external payroll provider.
    • Review payroll information, follow up on discrepancies and ensure relevant changes are submitted accurately and on time.
    • Act as an internal point of contact for payroll-related questions.
    • Coordinate with employees, HR and external payroll providers as required.
  • Onboarding & Employee Support
    • Coordinate and continuously improve the onboarding programme for new employees.
    • Be a visible and approachable HR contact for employees in the Frankfurt office.
    • Support employees with day-to-day HR questions.
    • Ensure new joiners are well supported from offer through their first months with the company.
  • HR Projects & European Growth
    • Support the HR Manager on local and European HR projects as the organisation continues to grow.
    • Work closely with headquarters on HR initiatives, process improvements and implementation of global programmes.
    • Support annual HR cycles such as rewards and compensation planning.
    • Contribute to improving and scaling HR processes, policies and ways of working as the European organisation develops.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in HR Administration, HR Operations, HR Coordination or a similar generalist role.
  • Good understanding of core HR processes and a strong interest in developing into a broader HR Generalist role.
  • Comfortable working with employment contracts, employee documentation and confidential HR information.
  • Exposure to payroll processes or working with an external payroll provider is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Workday or another HRIS/payroll system would be a strong advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident and approachable communication style - comfortable being the day-to-day face of HR in the office.
  • Hands-on mindset and willingness to take ownership in a fast-growing and changing international environment.
  • Fluent German and strong English skills.
  • Able and willing to work onsite in Frankfurt 4-5 days per week.
