Key Responsibilities
- Modify and instrument an existing thermal shock testing system to include a mechanical loading component equivalent to internal pressure.
- Design and execute thermal shock laboratory experiments that approximate specific loading conditions reminiscent of those in a nuclear reactor pressure vessel.
- Analyze and interpret experimental results within the framework of nuclear safety criteria aligned with international standards, potentially incorporating finite element analyses.
- Publish findings in reputable scientific journals and present at international conferences.
- Engage in collaboration on various service tasks and international projects.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and possesses a robust background in mechanical testing of materials. Proficiency in English communication is essential, while knowledge of German is considered a definite advantage.
