Advance Life-Saving Vaccine Development

LimmaTech Biologics AG, a Swiss-based clinical stage biopharmaceutical company and wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, is dedicated to halting the increasing threat of global infections caused by emerging antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and sexually transmitted diseases. Join our team to apply state-of-the-art expertise in recombinant protein expression and bacterial fermentation, contributing directly to the creation of vaccines that save lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform, analyze, and plan USP experiments at laboratory scale in accordance with established plans, timelines, and project priorities.
  • Analyze recombinantly produced vaccine candidates using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and related analytical methods.
  • Establish and perform in-process controls (IPCs) to characterize fermentation intermediates, support process optimization, and monitor fermentation performance.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of recombinant protein expression and bacterial fermentation processes for vaccine research projects.
  • Maintain laboratories and equipment in a clean, safe, and fully operational condition in accordance with applicable safety and operational standards.
  • Identify and provide solutions to technical and scientific challenges arising during research activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within and outside the Research team to support project objectives and ensure efficient execution of research activities.

Qualifications and Skills

We are seeking an efficient, proactive, and enthusiastic team player who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, takes ownership of activities, and is motivated to continuously learn and develop in a laboratory-focused technical role. You should combine a strong practical and theoretical background in bacterial fermentation and heterologous protein expression with a structured and solution-oriented approach.

  • An MSc degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Microbiology, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Practical experience and solid knowledge of bacterial fermentation and heterologous protein expression systems.
  • Proven hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of laboratory-scale bacterial fermentation using modern bioreactor systems such as DasBox.
  • A structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Work Environment

The position is based in Schlieren near Zürich, easily accessible by public transportation. This role offers the opportunity to work within a friendly, highly motivated, and dynamic team dedicated to advancing the vaccine pipeline.
