Scientist, Single-Cell and Spatial Omics
Join a leading global player in the Pharmaceutical industry headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. This organization is undergoing a significant transformation in culture and external perception, focusing on novel therapies in Oncology and Ophthalmology. They are also developing a world-leading pipeline in Neuroscience and Dermatology, boasting one of the strongest pipelines of Phase II/III studies globally.
As part of this dynamic team, you will contribute to a 6-month contract role dedicated to advancing scientific research through cutting-edge genomic technologies.
Main Tasks
- Develop, evaluate, and implement NGS methods and protocols, with a specific emphasis on single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial or multi-omics applications
- Independently perform experiments, analyze data, and write high-quality reports
- Ensure the generation of FAIR-compliant data through scientific rigor
- Interpret complex sequencing datasets together with wet lab and bioinformatics teams to provide actionable insights to project teams
- Present protocols and results to internal stakeholders
Your Profile
- Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
- Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
- 1 to 2 years of industry experience in genomics, in situ hybridization, imaging, and spatial techniques
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with NGS workflows and strong molecular biology skills, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, and NGS library preparation
- Experience with single-cell and spatial transcriptomics platforms is a plus
- Experience with challenging clinical sample types such as FFPE tissue, primary tumor cells, and low-input samples
- Experience and enthusiasm for developing and refining experimental methods, working independently, and communicating findings effectively
- Strong collaboration skills within and across matrix teams
- Fluent English
