Position Overview

Join a dynamic and innovative national security satellite company where engineers address real-world challenges from initial power-on to successful orbit operations. This role offers the opportunity to take charge of avionics bring-up, ideal for passionate professionals who thrive at the intersection of hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Linux bring-up process for new avionics hardware.
  • Own the board support package, custom kernel development, device trees, bootloaders, and low-level drivers to interface hardware with the operating system.
  • Define and construct the infrastructure for deploying and validating systems across flight computers, radios, and payload processors.
  • Create internal tools to facilitate rapid hardware debugging in both laboratory and production environments.
  • Represent software and firmware considerations during cross-disciplinary product development phases.
  • Communicate technical risks and integration status effectively to program teams.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant industry experience in embedded Linux kernel and BSP development.
  • At least 5 years of C programming experience.
  • 5 or more years of familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.
  • Must possess US Person status (U.S. Citizenship is required for clearance eligibility).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C++ and Python programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Xilinx Zynq or Ultrascale+ SoC devices and the related design processes, including Vivado and PetaLinux (Yocto).
  • Experience using software-defined radios, specifically AD9361 or Xilinx RFSoC devices.
  • Knowledge of communication standards such as SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, Ethernet, or SpaceWire.
  • Proficiency in HDL simulators like ModelSim/Questa or Xilinx Simulator (XSIM).
