Scientific and Technical Leadership in Late-Stage Chemical Process Development

Join a 12-month contract based in Basel, Switzerland, with planned extensions. This hybrid role allows for up to two days of home office per week and requires approximately 10% travel. You will provide scientific and technical leadership in late-stage chemical process development, leading process chemists and project teams while driving complex R&D activities. Collaborate with international Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisations (CDMOs) to advance chemical processes towards manufacturing readiness.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead late-stage chemical process R&D and development activities, ensuring effective execution of project objectives and deliverables.
• Provide scientific and technical leadership to process chemists and cross-functional project teams.
• Coordinate and manage project activities with international CDMO partners based in Germany and APAC.
• Drive process development projects and ensure effective collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Apply advanced chemical knowledge and scientific problem-solving skills to address complex process development challenges.
• Conduct scientific literature searches and utilise appropriate modelling tools to support research and process development activities.
• Support project alignment, technical discussions, and stakeholder collaboration across international teams.
• Travel internationally approximately four times per year to support project activities and collaboration with external partners.

Qualifications and Experience

• PhD or postdoctoral experience in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Extensive experience in R&D and late-stage chemical process development.
• Proven experience leading process chemists, scientific teams, and project teams.
• Strong scientific and technical understanding of chemical processes and process development.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English is essential.
• Willingness to travel internationally approximately four times per year.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Advantages
