API Integration Expert

Support an international client in establishing robust policies and governance layers for API deployment. This role requires an experienced professional to drive the creation of comprehensive governance frameworks, ensuring secure, scalable, and reusable API solutions across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the API integration expert, defining and supporting integration governance, reviews, and compliance processes, including their automation.
• Create policies, governance, and safeguard layers for the deployment of all APIs.
• Improve existing API and integration lifecycle processes.
• Develop API-first design guidelines, standards, and best practices.
• Enhance API catalogue quality, documentation, metadata, and reuse.
• Create and deliver trainings and workshops to promote best practices.
• Promote reusable, secure, and scalable APIs in collaboration with the Community of Practice.
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to align integration strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Strong project experience with API integration and API management.
• Previous background as an API or integration Architect.
• Project experience in enterprise integration and integration architecture.
• Strong knowledge of API-first design, REST/OpenAPI, OData, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience with various integration tools and management platforms, such as Azure API Management, MuleSoft, and SAP Integration Suite.
• Previous experience in setting up API policies and governance.
• Knowledge of SAP integration, SaaS integration patterns, and integration governance.
• Experience with developing and delivering API-first training.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Project experience in international projects for European businesses.
• Fluency in English.
