In addition to our space activities, our team works on groundbreaking initiatives in ground-based astronomy, like the European 39-m Extremely Large Telescope (ELT). Recently, we secured funding to develop an adaptive optics (AO) system for the 80-cm telescope at the Zimmerwald Observatory, in partnership with the Astronomical Institute of the University of Bern (AIUB) and EPFL.
We are currently seeking a skilled Automation Technician (Automatiker) HF/FH to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on the hardware and software development of PLC Systems, specifically relating to an adaptive optics real-time system for a ground-based telescope. The initial term of this position is one year, starting from December 1, 2026, or by arrangement, with the possibility of extension. Our salary is in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Canton of Bern.
