Biospecimen Specialist – BioRepository Specialist (7096)

Role Overview

Join a pioneering organization in Drug Discovery and Development and a frontrunner in Personalised Healthcare. As the world’s largest R&D spender in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics domain, this client works across a vast number of drug discovery and therapeutic areas and is highly recognized internationally. This 12-month contract role, based in the Zug area, Switzerland, offers a high possibility for extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and perform biological material processing, registration, shipment, returns, verification activities, retrievals, and inventory searches in a validated environment.
• Take accountability for end-to-end project management and biorepository management activities to fulfill customer specimen requests.
• Collaborate with relevant permitting agencies, import/export compliance, and local Safety and Biorepository Teams to comply with permit requirements.
• Maintain compliance with BAM processes, including the collection and maintenance of relevant documentation, receipt and review of sample data to secure an accurate and complete sample and data set.
• Assume responsibility for accuracy, quality, and timeliness of work within supported projects and respond appropriately to changing priorities.
• Effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders to establish timelines and meet defined project goals.
• Maintain information in a validated laboratory information management system compliant with GxP principles and standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant Swiss working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
• Life science Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 1-3 years relevant experience in sample acquisition, data management, biobanking; OR Life science Master’s degree or equivalent with some experience in sample acquisition, data management, biobanking or related area.
• Experience in handling biological specimens; willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material.
• IT skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and experience with LIMS or other validated systems.
• English proficiency at a minimum B2 level.

• Ability to follow detailed standard procedures and strong understanding of the concept of biospecimen traceability.
• Meticulous attention to detail, committed to ensuring the highest quality, accuracy, and timeliness of biospecimen deliverables.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with efficiency; and capable of handling multiple projects.
• Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to effectively manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, CRO or medical device industry.
• German language skills.
