The Opportunity

As part of the wider Balmoral Group, you will join a forward-thinking manufacturing business with a strong focus on engineering excellence, quality, and continued investment in its people and facilities. This role is ideal for a CAD Technician with 2D and 3D CAD experience looking to join a supportive and experienced technical team. You will work on a variety of engineering projects from initial design through to manufacture and installation, with the opportunity to further develop your CAD skills, gain exposure to different engineering projects, and progress your career within an established manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create and update general arrangement, fabrication, CNC, and structural steelwork drawings.
• Maintain and manage project drawings and documentation using Autodesk Vault.
• Amend existing drawings in line with project and customer requirements.
• Produce manufacturing lists and supporting technical documentation.
• Support manufacturing and installation teams with technical drawings and design queries.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure designs meet project specifications.
• Assist with design reviews and manufacturing feasibility checks.
• Ensure drawings are accurate and comply with relevant engineering and quality standards.
• Manage multiple drawing projects and meet agreed deadlines.

Key Requirements

• Degree or relevant higher education in Design or Engineering.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Autodesk Inventor.
• Previous CAD Technician or CAD Designer experience is advantageous, but graduates will be considered.
• Ability to produce and amend accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Salary and Additional Information

The position is based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, offering a salary of £25,000-£30,000, depending on experience.
