Advance Life-Saving Vaccine Development

LimmaTech Biologics AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, is a Swiss clinical stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to advancing a vaccine pipeline to combat the increasing threat of global infections caused by emerging antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and sexually transmitted diseases. Joining the team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of life-saving vaccines.

We are seeking a curious, enthusiastic, and proactive team player to strengthen our Upstream Processing (USP) team. This role involves contributing to the development of robust and scalable manufacturing processes for early- to mid-stage vaccines, utilizing technical and scientific skills to run various biological fermentation systems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare, perform, and document USP operations and experiments in accordance with established plans, timelines, and project priorities.
  • Develop robust and scalable microbial upstream fermentation processes suitable for subsequent GMP manufacturing under the guidance of experienced team members, using bioreactors and supporting technologies.
  • Establish and execute experimental strategies to investigate expression systems and critical process parameters with the aim of identifying optimal manufacturing conditions for novel products.
  • Evaluate and interpret experimental data and communicate results and conclusions in scientific meetings, presentations, and technical reports.
  • Support technology transfer activities to contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) throughout different stages of development.
  • Support the maintenance of laboratories and equipment in a clean, safe, and fully operational condition in accordance with applicable safety and operational standards.

What We Are Looking For

You should enjoy hands-on laboratory work, take ownership of your activities, and be motivated to continuously learn and develop in a laboratory-focused technical role. Ideally, you bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Technician qualification, BSc. degree in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, food technology, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in microbial fermentation and upstream bioprocessing.
  • A strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for working with sophisticated laboratory and bioprocess equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of biochemistry, microbiology, aseptic techniques, and good microbial practice.
  • Experience with experimental design, process optimization, and data analysis is an advantage.
  • A structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Working Environment

The working place is in Schlieren near Zürich, easily accessible by public transportation. The position is part of a friendly, highly motivated, and dynamic team.
