Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of a portfolio of SME and lower mid-market corporate finance transactions, including business sales, acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs, fundraising, and shareholder exits.
  • Project manage deal teams, transaction timelines, and key workstreams to ensure efficient execution.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with business owners, management teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review financial models, valuations, and transaction analyses.
  • Draft and review Information Memoranda, management presentations, Heads of Terms, and other transaction documentation.
  • Coordinate financial, commercial, tax, and legal due diligence processes.
  • Liaise with external advisers and internal teams across various functions including tax and wealth management.
  • Support clients through negotiations, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce complementary services within the organization.
  • Develop strong connections with accountants, lawyers, wealth managers, and other professional intermediaries.
  • Assist Partners and Directors in business development initiatives, pitches, proposals, and new client opportunities.
  • Manage, coach, and develop junior team members within the Corporate Finance team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the Corporate Finance offering.

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or possess an equivalent professional qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in corporate finance, transaction services, or a related advisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience executing and completing SME or lower mid-market transactions.
  • Familiarity with transactions such as business sales, acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs, or fundraising.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, alongside a solid understanding of accounting principles in transactions.
  • Experience working with owner-managed, entrepreneurial, or family-owned businesses.
  • Possess strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and meet competing deadlines.
  • Experience in supervising, mentoring, or developing junior team members.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially minded with the confidence to develop relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across multiple service lines.
  • Willingness to travel to clients and other offices as required.
