  • Lead negotiations on upfront payments, development and regulatory milestones, royalties, territorial rights, exclusivity, intellectual property, and development and commercialization responsibilities.
  • Develop transaction structures that optimize asset value while addressing commercial, clinical, regulatory, and execution risks.
  • Identify and engage potential partners, including multinational pharmaceutical companies, oncology-focused biotechnology companies, and regional pharmaceutical partners.
  • Build senior-level relationships with global oncology business development, licensing, and therapeutic area leadership teams.

  • Analyze oncology treatment landscapes, standards of care, competitive pipelines, clinical data, unmet medical needs, and commercial opportunities.
  • Assess the differentiation and partnering potential of pipeline assets based on efficacy, safety, biomarker strategies, target populations, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop commercial assessments and transaction valuation models in collaboration with clinical, scientific, and finance teams.
  • Monitor comparable oncology licensing transactions and market trends to inform negotiation strategies and deal structures.
  • Provide recommendations on asset prioritization, licensing timing, target markets, and partner selection.
  • Advise the CBO and executive management on oncology pipeline monetization, licensing strategy, partnership opportunities, and transaction priorities.
  • Lead high-level commercial negotiations with prospective partners and communicate transaction progress and risks to senior management.
  • Contribute to the global growth strategy through strategic partnerships and value-maximizing licensing transactions.

Skills & Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, oncology, biotechnology, or a related field. A PhD is preferred; an MBA is an advantage.
  • Proven years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical business development, licensing, corporate development, or strategic partnering, with seniority appropriate to Director - Executive Director level.

  • Established relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies active in oncology development and commercialization.
  • Strong knowledge of licensing economics, transaction structuring, intellectual property, clinical and regulatory milestones, and global commercialization rights.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-border negotiations and coordinate multidisciplinary transaction teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is preferred.
