Join Our Team and Shape the Future of Bacterial Vaccines
At our biotechnology startup, we are pioneering the development of next-generation glycoconjugate vaccines aimed at preventing infections caused by Gram-negative bacterial pathogens. Our lead vaccine candidate is targeting Escherichia coli, a leading cause of urinary tract infections globally and a significant contributor to antimicrobial resistance. We are privileged to operate at the forefront of cutting-edge science on ETH Zurich’s Hönggerberg campus, offering a unique opportunity to engage in high-impact scientific endeavors with substantial clinical potential.
Your Role
As a key member of our in vivo team, you will play an indispensable role in our research efforts. In this position, you will conduct hands-on work in our animal facility, specifically focused on mouse experiments to evaluate various aspects of our vaccine. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Designing and executing mouse experiments
- Processing samples and developing assays (ELISA, SBA, OPK, FACS)
- Ensuring proper documentation of experiments in line with Swiss legal standards and OLAW compliance
- Collaborating closely with the vaccine development team and carrier protein team for experimental design and timelines
- Analyzing data and reporting findings within our interdisciplinary startup team, working closely with the head of preclinical development
Your Profile
We seek an individual who is curious, reliable, and committed to producing high-quality results while demonstrating a strong desire to grow professionally. Your ability to navigate complex challenges within a collaborative team setting will be crucial for delivering impactful scientific advancements. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A completed apprenticeship as a laboratory technician or an MSc in Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, or a related field
- Prior experience with mouse work, particularly in injection techniques and disease models
- A strong background in standard microbiology techniques and wet lab work, ideally within a BSL-2 laboratory
- Experience in immunological assay development and execution, with a focus on ELISA and FACS
- Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to rigorous documentation practices
- Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proficiency in English
