Investment Director – Value-Add Infrastructure Private Equity Investments

Swiss Life Asset Managers, one of Switzerland's top three institutional asset managers, oversees CHF 280bn in assets. The infrastructure private equity investment team manages more than CHF 9bn on behalf of Swiss Life and external clients, with a mandate focused on direct investments in core, core+ and value-add infrastructure assets in OECD countries, particularly Europe and North America. Over the last 11 years, the team has executed over 60 direct infrastructure investments. The mandate is currently expanding to include control and co-control investments of up to EUR 500m.

The international and dynamic team is based in Zurich and consists of over 40 investment professionals with extensive international investment experience in the infrastructure sector. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the value-add infrastructure team as an Investment Director (f/m/d), taking part in all aspects of private equity infrastructure investing from deal sourcing to portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing value-add infrastructure investment opportunities
• Leading transaction execution
• Preparing equity stories and presenting investment memoranda to the Infrastructure Investment Committee
• Active asset management of portfolio companies, including Board representation
• Conducting independent sector research and transaction origination

Required Experience and Skills

• Strong academic profile from a top-tier university or business school
• At least 10 years of full-time experience in an M&A or financing role at an investment bank, infrastructure private equity fund, or major consultancy
• Relevant infrastructure buy-side experience, a strong professional network, and a strong deal sheet, especially in Energy Transition, are considered a plus
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
• Strong motivation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and quickly grasp complex topics with a pro-active can-do attitude
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is required; French or Spanish is a plus
