Through these extensive forging processes, the company offers a fully integrated metals service centre, covering everything from ingot and billet forging through to fully tested and released machined products.

Role Overview

Based at the Livesey Street manufacturing site in Sheffield, this role involves working within the Maintenance Engineering team responsible for all daily maintenance activities. The position is designed for a fully skilled, apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working within a heavy forge environment, with a good working knowledge of hydraulics and mobile plant maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Support the installation of new plant.
• Plan mechanical maintenance tasks for completion during scheduled shutdowns.
• Support the development and upgrading of existing equipment.
• Work safely and effectively in line with company safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Complete any other reasonable duties as required by the department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias.
• Experience working within a heavy forge environment.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulics, ideally Oilgear Tower.
• Mobile plant maintenance skills, including manipulators, FLTs, and OHC.
• Experience of breakdown maintenance on presses, hammers, lathes, and bores would be ideal.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of the wider Maintenance team.

Salary and Benefits

This position offers a rate of £21.47 per hour, based on a 37.5-hour working week, equivalent to approximately £41,866.50 per annum. It is a chance to make a real impact in a company that values engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
