Strategic Materials Planning Role in Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Join a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients across the chemical and biotechnology sectors. This contract opportunity, based in Visp, Switzerland, runs until April 2027 with the potential for extension or internalization. The position focuses on proactively maintaining and continuously improving the supply of Customer Supplier Materials to ensure timely availability and drive short-term execution of plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the completion of Materials Requirements Plans to support the product Supply Plan and guarantee the timely availability of materials.
• Liaise with key functions to update material plans in response to changes or availability issues.
• Execute tasks to support inventory plans and optimization initiatives.
• Convert planned orders into material plans, including the creation and management of Purchase Requisitions and BANFs.
• Collaborate with Material Project Leads (MPLs) to keep material plans current and responsive to changing requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed material planning parameters within planning systems.
• Convert material requirements plans into Purchase Orders.
• Expediting material availability through coordination with procurement and inbound material processing teams.
• Develop and manage material-related KPIs to ensure an accurate understanding of material availability.
• Execute material availability, mobilization, or write actions to optimize inventory management and reduce scrap or waste (SMOG).
• Work with key stakeholders, including MPLs and Material Analysts, to develop safety stock and inventory plans that meet production needs.
• Cooperate closely with Operational Buyers to address supplier-related questions.
• Track, report, and facilitate on-time material availability, driving escalations and ensuring accountability for material releases for production.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU citizenship is required.
• Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Procurement, or a relevant field.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a Material Requirements Planner.
• Proficiency in Planning and Purchasing, including Production Scheduling, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Purchase Order (PO) Management, Supplier Expediting, Shortage Resolution, Work Order Execution, Bill of Materials (BOM) Management, and New Product Introductions (NPI).
• Experience with ERP and Inventory Systems such as JD Edwards, SAP (MM, WM, IBP), and Advanced Inventory Control methods (ABC, EOQ, Reorder Point, Safety Stock, Aging Inventory Analysis).
• Skills in Supplier and Operational Management, including Approved Supplier Collaboration, Supplier Scorecards, Vendor Performance Tracking, On-Time Delivery (OTD), Receiving/GRN & ASN Tracking, and Contract Compliance.
• Competence in Analytics and Continuous Improvement, utilizing Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query), Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (DMAIC), Value Stream Mapping, and cGMP Compliance.
