Quality Manager

Lead the Quality Function in a Fast-Paced Manufacturing Environment

Join a dynamic manufacturing business in Alfreton, Derbyshire, to take full ownership of the quality function. This hands-on role is ideal for a Senior Quality Engineer ready to step into a managerial position or an experienced Quality Manager seeking a new challenge. You will work closely with Production, Health and Safety, and Engineering to strengthen processes, drive a positive quality culture, and influence business-wide standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Quality function across the business
• Manage, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and business processes
• Identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
• Work closely with Production and Engineering to improve quality, reduce defects, and minimise repeat issues
• Develop and improve quality processes, procedures, and standards
• Monitor key quality performance indicators and use data to identify areas for improvement
• Lead internal audits and support external and customer audits
• Manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and customer complaints
• Promote a strong quality culture across the manufacturing operation
• Support the introduction and improvement of standard operating procedures and quality controls
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues on quality requirements and best practice
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and overall process performance

Key Requirements

• Previous experience within a Quality Engineering or Quality Management role in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems
• Experience of conducting internal audits and managing corrective actions
• A proven track record of driving process improvement and continuous improvement
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Experience working closely with Production and Engineering teams
• The confidence to challenge processes and drive improvements across the business
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Residence within a commutable distance of Alfreton, Derbyshire

Salary and Benefits

• Salary of £40,000 - £50,000, depending on experience
