Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic professional to support and enhance our tax strategy across the EMEA region. This role will involve developing comprehensive tax solutions that are both technically robust and commercially practical, while managing a range of tax-related matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax & Treasury Liaison:
- Act as the primary liaison to Treasury regarding funding, capital structure, and intercompany financing.
- Provide specialized tax and transfer pricing guidance on various treasury initiatives.
- Advise on withholding tax and treaty interpretation issues.
- Collaborate with Finance and Legal to maintain governance and documentation.
- Tax Planning & International Tax:
- Lead tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for tax efficiencies.
- Develop audit-defensible positions on international tax matters.
- Present tax planning risks and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Monitor developments in OECD guidance and local legislation.
- Transfer Pricing:
- Oversee transfer pricing governance and policy development in accordance with OECD Guidelines and local standards.
- Coordinate documentation and defense strategies globally.
- APAs & MAPs:
- Lead and manage Advance Pricing Agreements and Mutual Agreement Procedures.
- Develop technical positions for tax authority submissions.
- Tax Controversy & Advocacy:
- Manage tax inquiries, audits, appeals, and litigation matters.
- Develop strategies for effective audit defense and responses.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead multi-jurisdictional projects involving various stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
- Present complex technical matters clearly to senior management.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in international tax, transfer pricing, and tax controversy.
- Significant experience with APAs, MAPs, and cross-border tax matters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with effective communication abilities.
- Degree in Law, Tax, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; advanced qualifications preferred.
- Fluency in English is essential; German language skills are advantageous.
