Your Crew

Join our multidisciplinary team of 10 engineers, where you will have a leading role in our projects. You will work in a multicultural environment, serving a global customer base and engaging with a broad range of technologies and projects. From one-off ESA science projects to state-of-the-art serial production for satellite constellations, there is a wide range of challenging tasks waiting for you.

Your Mission

• Plan, coordinate, and review project work in Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration & Testing (MAIT).
• Serve as the MAIT interface to project management, regularly updating and reporting manufacturing status to the project manager and team.
• Take responsibility for the integration and alignment concept and associated tooling development.
• Support Design regarding Manufacturability and design-to-cost, including attending regular reviews with system engineers, design, procurement, and suppliers during the design phase.
• Perform manufacturability reviews (tolerances, surface treatments, etc.) of manufacturing documents such as part drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of material.
• Support system engineering regarding verification.
• Support design regarding Jigs & Tools (MGSE, EGSE) specifications, including concepts, design, and quantities.
• Estimate required production time and resources for initial models and non-recurring activities.
• Provide and commission J&T and hand them over to the production team.
• Ensure product quality through respective production regulations, inspections, and procedures.
• Act as the document owner of the MAIT-Plan (including flows and layouts) and assembly procedures.
• Drive troubleshooting within production and serve as the first point of contact for Assembly & Test Technicians.
• Continuously improve process capability, quality, and efficiency.
• Drive Automation within Operations.
• Support the procurement department during complex procurement processes regarding adherence to technical specifications.
• Present conducted MAIT activities, including in front of customers.
• Support proposal work and claim management.
• Advise engineering and project management with know-how in the area of shipment and delivery.
• Advise engineering and operations with know-how in the area of certification and machine guidelines.
• Support or act as deputy to the ME Manager.
• Train and sponsor new employees and interns.
• Perform regular proposal work and cost estimation for new projects.
• Establish MAIT concepts for new projects and evaluate feasibility.
• Lead industrialization efforts for site-level new products and processes.

Your Profile

• University degree or technical college degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a similar field.
• 7-10+ years of previous hands-on Engineering experience in a more complex manufacturing setting, ideally in the Space or Aerospace sector.
• Hands-on mentality.
• Customer- and Product-oriented mindset.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in manufacturing technologies and basic knowledge of materials science.
• SAP know-how.
• Know-how in lean manufacturing or operational excellence.
• Production line leadership experience.
• Experience with MES (SAP), CAD, and other relevant complex software.
• Experience in composite and metallic structures.
