Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the functional owner of purchasing, responsible for the leadership, governance, and commercial performance of all purchasing activities.
- Develop and implement purchasing and category strategies to ensure continuity of supply while achieving sustainable cost improvements.
- Maintain a competitive, capable, and compliant supply base.
- Lead and manage a team comprising two direct reports and three indirect reports, demonstrating excellent leadership qualities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and Commercial.
- Advise the Supply Chain Director and leadership team on material commercial opportunities, supplier risks, cost exposures, and strategic decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience in purchasing or procurement management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in leading a purchasing team with ownership of both strategic and tactical purchasing.
- Strong background in category management, competitive tendering, negotiation, and procurement governance.
- Demonstrated success in delivering cost reductions, enhancing supplier performance, and managing supply-risk improvements.
- Excellent commercial, financial, and analytical judgement with proficient use of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with ethical sourcing, Modern Slavery, anti-bribery, and supplier compliance requirements.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to challenge stakeholders constructively at senior levels.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, at C1 Level.
Additional Desirable Attributes
- CIPS qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience in polymers, rubber, chemical, or engineering sectors.
Work Arrangement
This position is office-based in Lincoln, with a standard work week of Monday through Friday. Candidates should ideally reside within a commutable distance.
