Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on business rates assessments and associated liabilities.
- Preparing and negotiating Check, Challenge, Appeal (CCA) submissions.
- Reviewing rating lists to identify potential savings opportunities.
- Managing client portfolios while delivering strategic rating advice.
- Conducting property inspections and data collection as required.
- Liaising with the Valuation Office Agency and other key stakeholders.
- Supporting business development initiatives and creating client presentations.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, proposals, and technical advice.
- Monitoring legislative and market trends that impact business rates.
- Contributing to team knowledge sharing and professional development activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Degree qualified in Real Estate, Property, Surveying, or a related field.
- MRICS qualified or progressing towards professional accreditation.
- Experience in business rates, property tax, valuation, or related surveying disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Proficient in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Commercially aware with a client-centric approach.
- Possession of a full UK driving license.
Desirable Qualifications
- Up to 3 years of post-qualification experience within a rating consultancy environment.
- Familiarity with UK rating legislation and the appeals process.
